Principle of Radiant Air Conditioning System

Radiant air conditioning system transfers thermal energy by radiation; It's one of the three means of heat transfer amongst conduction, convection and radiation. Radiation transfers thermal energy directly to human bodies such that it creates indoor thermal condition that is substantially identical to the natural environment, and provides a feel of relaxation and heeling.

Heated/chilled water heat pump (manufactured by other companies) is used as heat source. Depending on its model and manufacturer, power output varies from 3KW to 11KW.

  1. The system is configured by connecting the aluminum panel with the heat pump and circulating heated/chilled water. 
    The panel requires no high-pressure refrigerant gas or power supply as it is heated and chilled by circulating tap water.
  2. Heat pumps of our recommended manufacturer are available.
  3. To prevent inner freezing, anti-freeze liquid (propylene glycol) is diluted into circulating water.

Aluminum panel

It is the main unit that emits and absorbs heats by circulating heated/chilled water. Required number of panel is calculated based on various factors and conditions as well as thermal capacities. Please refer to Installation Planning Manual for calculation of required thermal capacity.

Water temperature remote controller

It controls the temperature of inner water circulating the system in the range of 10℃ - 45℃. It comes with timer and automatic-adjustment functions.
*Please refer to instructions provided by heat pump manufacturers.

Circulation pipe and circulating water

Circulation pipe circulates heated/chilled water from the heat pump, and is composed of cross-linked polyethylene pipe and heat-insulating material. Please refer to Installation Planning Manual for the recommended product codes and sizes. Tap water (not well water) should be regulatory compliant and is diluted by anti-freeze liquid (propylene glycol) for circulation. Required quantity of anti-freeze liquid may vary by water region.

Drain pipe and condensation

As the temperature of circulating water can fall as low as 10℃, other system components are also chilled under the cooling operation. This phenomena causes condensation. Dew drops are collected in a drain pan to be discharged outside the premises. The pipes and joints are shielded with heat-insulating materials to prevent condensation on the surface.

Constant flow valves, flow meter,
pressure loss

Circulating water flows into the natural direction so that constant flow valves are set at the exit of each panel when combining multiple panels. When branching out circulating water by a header at the heat pump, a flow meter is placed and constant flow valves are set at 2 litters/min. Due to the simplicity of the panel, the pressure loss is approximately 0.02Mpa or less regardless of the panel size. This setting makes the panel combination possible.


The panel is essentially maintenance-free. However, we recommend that you occasionally clean it with "Maintenance Kid" included in the package.


We recommend 24/7 operation of the system, while expecting decrease in energy costs as compared to traditional air conditioners. Also, required number of heat source may be one fourths of traditional air conditioners such that the system saves spaces in addition to energy cost.
